Fives after the Citadel

Description

Fives being thoughtful after Echo's apparent death at the Citadel. His brother having been caught in an explosion. I feel for him in that episode. The urgency of the situation making it impossible to even check if Echo is still alive or not.
The little detail where he lingers and looks back when they start to move on kills me every time.

My poor clones.

Fives and Echo first caught my attention when they came back in "ARC Troopers". I've had a liking for ARC Troopers from the original Clone Wars series, due to how badass they were in handling Spec Ops missions, so when Fives and Echo were promoted to ARC Troopers, I didn't feel anything until I actually saw them in their Phase 1.5 armor during the Citadel story arc. Then I saw a video titled "Echo's Death" on YouTube, and was shocked to see Echo's smoking helmet. Realizing Fives was then the sole survivor of the Domino Squad, it was from that point on that Fives became a favorite character of mine, largely due to liking clone troopers from the prequels before The Clone Wars came out (out of a personal preference for characters skilled with firearms and hand-to-hand combat), in addition to being a sole survivor, and a blue ARC Trooper (I was upset when they killed off Havoc in "ARC Troopers"). However, it was during the Umbara story arc that Fives became my most favorite Star Wars character of all time. Through "Darkness on Umbara" to "Carnage of Krell", Fives showed that despite their genetic nature, clones were human enough to know right from wrong. Fives' actions from the arc reassured me the possibility of there being clones who didn't obey Order 66, and I truly began to love him for how he developed as a character. I was still wondering if they would ever bring up Order 66 in any future episodes, when I saw the official clip for Season 6. Immediately, I began anticipating how the story would play out, excited with Fives not only making a return, but returning for a story arc focused on Order 66, an event that upset me as to how loyal soldiers could turn so quickly on their Jedi allies without any emotion. Ultimately, I was unable to see the episodes when they came out, so I was left in the dark as what happened to Fives. Then one day, I happened to come across the Domino Squad page on the Clone Wars wikia, and saw the word "deceased" next to Fives' name; my heart practically stopped beating, as I attempted to comprehend the information, before finally looking into it. Then I saw the video, and I was silently sobbing as I saw Fives gunned down by Fox. That episode alone shattered me, and caused me to stop watching the Clone Wars altogether, knowing not only did Fives die, he died a maniac, his efforts in vain.

Rest in Peace, Fives.

I carry your number with me wherever I go.
